Door locks?

Any place to buy new door locks? Maybe ones from another car that will fit? Reason I ask is my VW key opens my lock.

You can pick up new locks specific for your car at mazdatrix, they are sort of pricey though ($55+ each) Or you can get them at a scrap yard. im pretty sure that all 79-85 models share the same door and hatch locks. i know because i put 79 locks in my 85 and they fit and work just fine. The only thing that wont swap over is the ignition switch.

it looks like the only one that Mazda still had stock on is the left FA54-76-220, although you can turn it into a right by flipping the arm

list price is $64.78, 9 left in the world

I remember these locks... i knew two friends who installed them on their RX's but that was back in early 1990's...

Wanted to do it back them but funds were tight and my 85 RX7 was stolen in 94 and I never got the chance. I don't need them now cause the car is forever in the garage.. Not on blocks but because I can.

If i ever need to swap locks those are the ones I am going to use as well.

While you are in the doors Davd Rodack - Put in electric door locks as well. Some of the best money I put into the car was putting in the electric door acuators.

Awesome... now I may have to invest in a set with all of the performance upgrades (TII swap, sound system, gauges, etc.) I will be doing this winter.

You need the 3 lock set correct? Driver door, passenger door, and hatch? Just not sure if the hatch one could swap over too.

Yea, I need all 3 outside locks. not concerned about the ignition. Looks like i'll be investing in the Solex locks when my swap is done
