Im definatly impressed. Could you post some bigger pictures? Did you have any problems with the ecu wanting to go into limp mode? did you use the fd front cover and just make a motor mount? Im very curious...

I read this thread yesterday, then today while getting miata parts at local junkyard i spotted a FD with minor frontend damage. And immediatly thought of your project.

Looks very good! I love the look of the REW intake manifold. The S5 one looks like **** compared to it. I'm looking to get one bolted onto my S5 lower manifold. Got the upper part off ebay for $10, just missing the throttle body now...

Regards,
Frode

At first it did go into a bad limp mode ...ran like ****..could not even get 1lb of boost, but within 2 hrs of reasearch i foud out that the problem was the fact that I did not put in the 330 ohm resistors in place of all of the slinoids that I took out...after that it was on...Last night I scared the **** out of my self....The road was damp and I was going about 60 mph in 4th and I rolled on it ...it slung me sideways for about 150 feet ....As for the front cover ..I left it in tact so I could use the stock crand angle sensors.. so I made a cradel for the engin along with a custom mount for the transmision....There will be more, and better pictures comming soon with shots of the mounts and general pics....
I am currently running only 7 lbs of boost I will bump it up to 10 when ever I get rid of the open exaust (expet for the 28 inch long glasspack) and get a quieter exaust..

I've heard stories of 3rd gens uncontrollably loosing traction in the wet when the boost comes on. It's gotta be insane in a car that weighs 400 pounds less.

Kevin, You must be Keith's friend. I just got off of the phone with him. He has been telling me about your car for a few days. I'm getting ready to start a series 4 turbo conversion once I find a clean first gen. Keith says you go his son exited about rotaries again! He says your car is SCARY fast! Congratulations.

John

The link worked a few minutes ago, I don't know what happened? I wasn't able to click on the pics though to make them bigger.
