Alright so i found out why my car is so friggin hard to get started. i have 2 cracks in the intake mani, one on the top of the #1 rotor secondary port and one on the bottom of the #2 rotor secondary port . Anyhow, i purchased a mani from drunken,but stupid me i did not know there was a diff between a 79ish 12a and my 85.



the only problem i see is that on my 85 12a mani there is the rectangular port, at the bottom center of the mani, and on the 79ish mani there is no port there. so, i figure the rectangular port is just some part of the exhaust recirculation system, and if i plug that port on the center housing i can use this 79 mani on the 85 12a, possibly even get better exhaust pulse with it plugged...........or i could be completely off my rocker , what do you think?

I know people have plugged it before jsut using the normal(correct year) mani on theirs. I think you would be fine. Not totally sure though

midwest7s has offered to trade me an 85 mani for my 79ish, if the 85 hes has is in as good a condition as the79 ive got ill do, but the 79 is like brand spankin new i hate to get rid of it unless i cant use it.

 

 

if you block that hole that the 79 mani doesn't cover then ya you can use it..
