Hey guys,

so I'm trying to sell my Rex.
She is in great condition, the interior is perfect, great body, paint etc...

The only real problem is she doesn't drive.
She starts fine, will run on full choke, but the instant you take the choke off, or try and give it gas it bogs down and sputters to a halt.

I've been trying to sell it for about a year but no one wants a rex that doesn't drive, I really need it gone.

I'm willing to fix it, and/or have it fixed but I need some insight as to what the problem is, I'm guessing it's a carburetor issue? That's what I've been saying on my craigslist ad, do you guys think a carb rebuild would help with this issue?

Like I said starts ok, (which is why I don't think it's the fuel pump) but after choke, or trying to give it gas will stall it.

A few more details about the car (year, build level, engine, etc) would probably help.

There are several possible causes for what you describe.

 

If your car still has pollution control devices installed, check the anti-afterburn hose.
