Does this seem shifty to you?
I'm asking on behalf of someone who is looking to upgrade his 1st gen which currently has a blown engine. It's an upgrade package that uses a 13b turbo engine swap into a first gen n/a using stock first gen tranny and drivetrain?
Let me know what you think. Doesn't sound right to me. Also no mention of intercooler. Individual parts are price also... blockoff plate and dp are cheaper everywhere else.
our turn key packages are available as a bolt in kit for your car. We set the motor up to bolt directly into your first gen Rx7 using the transmission and drivetrain you already have in the car. As for the fuel system, we will include the necessary pump, regulator and fittings needed for the package.
Here is a price quote for the turn key package:
TurboII Engine $1200
Turbo Ready Weber Intake System $889
Turbo Hat $380
Fuel System $353.40
NGK Race Plugs $35
GSL-SE Oil Pan - $85.00
GSL-SE Front Cover $100.00
Lightweight Flywheel $325
Counterweight $80
Clutch Masters stage1 Clutch kit $206.58
Turbo Piping $300
Plug Wires $50.00
FI Block off kit $40.00
EGR Block off $15.00
Turbo Ready Race Distributor $250
2.5" Mandrel bent downpipe $180
Tear down and install new parts labor $250.
Total $4738.98 with factory turbo
or $5838.98 with turbo upgrade kit.
With this package you'll be able to use your factory NA transmission with the turboII engine. This motor will have all parts installed and ready to drop in. All parts are in stock and ready to ship. Give me a call with any questions you may have.

A 12A trans will not bolt up to a TII block. You don't need the light weight flywheel. The stock 13BT clutch will work fine with near stock engine power levels. Plus that is some cheap *** labor for all that work.

So, a 13BT will work with the stock 12A Tranny, you just need to get a lite flywheel and HD 13BT clutch.
12A Tranny's do break even with slighlty ported 12A motors, so a powerfull and Torquey 13BT will go through it like butter.

if he going to do it he sould do it the right way and put in a turbo gearbox and get a lsd diff cos i went through 3 gearboxs and 6 diffs in a 2 1/2 weeks with a 13b pp. as for the deal i don't know as i never got things through them
A TII clutch will not work with an NA tranny, the input shafts are different. I think Racing Beat (maybe its Mazdatrix) makes a TII clutch with NA spline. Maybe its the other way around? Hell, I don't remember
You could also run an NA light flywheel with the TII counterweight. If you like pulling trannies every couple weeks.

Hang on guys, now I look like a moron. I always thought the 13BT block was wider then the 12A Block. Not wide as in front to rear but as in motor mount to motor mount. The 13BT flywheel won't even fit inside the 12A bellhousing. I have tried to do this.
And that is still cheap *** labor for setting up the car. The going rate for labor an hour is $45. And I know that the guy will spend more than 5.5 hours installing and custom fabbing parts for the install.
I meant earlier they you can use the stock 13BT flywheel and clutch instead of getting aftermarket clutch and flywheel to save $$$.

Ok..as for my 2 cents... Why worrie about a t2 gearbox.. there are more convertables out there than t2z.. and the box is just as strong...it bolts right up with very little modifaction to the tranny mount..and you can reating the original drive shaft. The input shaft on the T2 is diffrent from the N/A motor.. the shaft itself is longer.
Personaly.. I've been running the convertable box for over 2 years and it held up fine.. 8-10-14 psi.. all day.. everyday.

I'm not sure but I think the labour is only setting up the engine to bolt in... putting on the lw flywheel and counterweight etc... I don't think it includes installation into the car. the guy who called and asked is in Halifax (east coast canada) and the shop I think is in california.
WTF is turbo piping?

I think even the gear spacing is diffrent.

The only thing Mazda made stronger for the vert was the suspension.
