ran with rebuilt street port engine, stock turbo

So went to the track again and I was trying to best my time of 14.3 with the stock turbo. This time though I have a engine thats streetported, which is the only main difference really compared to my previous engine. Finally got a 14.003 on my last run of the day.
-street port engine S5
-stock rebuilt turbo at 12 psi
-FMIC with turbo xs RFL BOV
-720 prim 1000 sec
-Rtek 2.1 S5
-FD oil pressure reg
-RB rev TII exhaust
-Hankooks RS-2 225-45-17

The hankooks really hooks up so much better then the Fuzion Zri I had on my previous run. They still lose traction, but not as much. I still had some wheel hop, nothing a good clutch feathering wont help.

I am on the left lane in all the slips, my friend is on the right on the slips, he has a civic, turbo D16, on dunlops sport maxx

I feel that if I turned boost to 14psi, I would get into the high 13s. The track closed an hour early because there was only 12 or so cars there. I wouldve definitely gotten into the high 13s with 8 more tries LOL
I was pushing 14psi before I rebuilt the turbo this week, but working this manual controller is shifty when the engine bay air is hot....On the highway I easily hit 14psi in 3rd, at the track, max was 12....

i dont know if the stock turbo would give you any more power (make you faster) at 14psi compared to 12psi, i think the max psi for the stock turbo is 12 unless you have aux injection, but i could be wrong, give it a shot and let us know

Yea, I was thinking that. The small compressor wheel would just not flow enough air at 14 psi to supply the engine.
With the stock turbo, it will only hit max boost around 3.5-5krpm and then tapers down by 4-5psi to redline. That extra psi at 3.5-5krpm would probably help a little bit since the engine isnt consuming as much air as compared to at high rpm.

Nice runs. Surprised the civic wasn't faster... my buddy would run high 12s with a Frankenstein engine and NOS.
