Make some, or have someone you trust do it. May sound silly but I've seen it on quads. They have less HP and are lighter, but on the flipside, you don't jump your car a couple hundred times a day. At least I hope not. Might work, might not, I dunno.

98 cents is your change.

I found a guy who makes wheel adapters specifcally for the rx-7 110 X 4 lug bolt pattern! He told me this:

Yes, we can help you. We make a kit just for the RX-7 this is the best way to go.
4x 110 mm car to 4 x 4 1/2 wheel, your adapters come with all the hardware to bolt them
down on to your cars hub with low profile studs and lugs.
This kit is as simple as bolting on your cars wheels, now you can go out and get some trick 17" wheels at a good price 4 x 4 1/2. If you want to use 4 x 100 mm wheels you can, but 4 x 4 1/2 is the best.
We make our adapters out of 6061-T6 billet alum just the best for strength.
A kit will cost you 175.00 complete in your hands ready to bolt on right out of the box they come in and this is for all four.
When you want to order please just forward this e-mail back to us so we can get you invoiced through secure PAYPAL.com

His email is WHEELADAPTERS@aol.com

I think the price is good so im going to go with this guy...

Yes, and it is also the same pattern as all small front drive hondas. I have been using a set for 2 years now and they are working great. As long as you take time bolting them on so they go on centered you will have no problem. I have had my car up to 125mph+ (legally in the 1/4 mile) and it rolls nice and smooth.

Ebay has listings of dozens of shops making wheel adapters of all kinds and they all do custom work also. Their prices are cheaper than CP Racing also. Check that out.

This might be a really stupid question, but I have to ask: do you think that the BBS wheels from a 2nd gen vert would fit on an FB with one of these adapters?

Bouis,

Everyone I've talked to about getting wheel adapters says that they can change our pattern to 4X100mm or 4X114.3mm (4X4.5"). I am pretty sure that second gens use the 4X114.3mm pattern. If you could get a hold of a set of BBS wheels I imagine that they would work with some wheel adapters. Not positive though. Find out what the bolt pattern for the 2nd gens is. More than likely it would be a nice fit.

I actually am the proud new owner of a set of 'vert wheels. I may sell them or they might become part of my next big upgrade. I think they're the 5x4.5 bolt pattern, but I haven't taken the caps off yet. I e-mailed CP to ask them about how they'll fit, anyway. The wheels are real pretty and it'd be nice to have access to some real performance tires.

Pretty sure FD's are 5 lug. You'd probably have to get the 5 lug conversion kit from CP racing. Even then I'm not sure if the wheels would fit or not. What size wheels do FD's have from the factory? 17's?? I don't even know, but you'd defnitely have to do some kind of a conversion to even get close....

FD wheels are 5X114(I think) and are 16X8 rim size.
