Do we realy need bumpers...

like the title sais, do we realy need em , i meen without em the car looks badass, must be like 100lbs right there, lil sheet metal fabricatin and you will have a realy good lookin car, even better than it was well for the people who have 79 and 80 cars, with those ugly rubber things on the sides of the bumpers... but i think its illegal to not have any bumbers...

yes, you need 'em. Or at least I did when my car took a headlong collission into a concrete barrier at highway speeds after slipping on black ice. Because the bumper absorbed shock like you wouldn't believe, I was able to back up and drive away with damage only forward of the front wheels.

The bumpers aren't that heavy, and the protection is worth the weight penalty.

This is kinda like the seatbelt thing, who cares if you look "cool" without it.

you can use the fb bumpers. or you can install an aluminum angle bar in place and fiberglass it or put a custom airdam on. this should still offer protection with weight loss and a unique look.

The FB's bumpers have covers. those covers could be installed. and no one would know the difference, untill they look at the rear of the car. just the covers
