Do my 5th/6th ports work? GSL-SE

I jsut got my RB street port system insalled for GSL-SE, and i told him (RB dude) on the phone:

I want to make sure that my 5th/6th ports are goign to open at the right time and all

RB - "Yup, this thing is bolt on and go! its everything you need".

Well I had the local exhaust dude install it, and he charged $180 to do so. He had to weld on a mount for the O2 sensor. This make me think that perhaps the 5th and 6th ports arent operating at the correct time.

How do i tell?

The car is amazingly fast as it is. I can spin out at any time in 1st gear. But i'm thinking perhaps i could be getting a bit more power??

Anywyas, thanks in advance for the help guys

Geoff

Are you running the dual set up (street port exhaust) or the 2 into one exhaust header system.

If you are running the dual, I would have to say RB sold you a unit for carburetor set up.

The first clue is the fact that there was not a 'bung' for the O2 sensor, secondly see if there is a exhaust tube running up from the header collector to engine.
My system was RB dual exhaust but from Mazda Trix because Bill has the 6 port system for a few more $$.
Part# at MazdaTrix is listed as:

13B 6 PORT (using injection, has 6-port actuation and O2 sensor).. 16-MZTX-4230

Give Bill at MazdaTrix a call and see if he can set you up to retro fit your system.

I know about teh mazdatrix system. Yes it is the street port system.

I asked everyone on the boards about the mazdatrix system they said

"dude mazdatrix doesnt know what the **** they are talking about, the Racing Beat one will work just fine"

and i said

"no it wont, because the backpressure isnt enough"

they says:

"yes it is"

So i told the dude at racing beat, when i ordered it, "I want to make sure the aux. ports will open propperly!!!!!!!!"

he said "yup, of course they will, this one is made specifically for FI 13b gsl-se's"

GRRRRRRR!!!!

Pop open the hood of your car and get onto the passenger side to locate the 6 port actuators underneath the lower intake manifold. Depress them both manually to see if they move/ are not stuck.
Start you car and allow it to warm up (be nice to that little engine) Now rev the car up from around 3000 to 6000 RPM, the actuators should move. o2 sensor has nothing to do with the 6 port operation.

no, i think i'm ok...

went out and checked.. and sho nuff, there is a tube coming out of one of the presilencers that connects to the factory tube coming out of the engine. The tube on the presilencer is built into the system, so i'm assuming that the muffler dude didnt have to put it on, too.

RacerX7fb is right, the early 13B engines don't need to be under load for the auxiliary ports to operate. You can check it by having somebody rev the engine while you look under the hood.

I was going to ask you if you had the tube connected from the presilencer. You beat me to it.
