Do i need a presilencer or thermal reactor ?
Um, before everyone else jumps at the chance to answer this question, I guess I'd better tell you...You might wanna rephrase that question, or try searching both subjects. If you're asking if you need one in the place of the other, they're not even related. If you're wondering if you need either to run your car, no, there are other options.
Fennix_sr: Duuude, I'm such a tool, I've replyed to a bunch of your threads and I just noticed where you're from, d'oh !!! Man, I thought I had the only '80 in town. If you need anyhelp with the car, Tyler (bcty) and I are always up for rotary stuff. Get some mechanical secondaires on that thing, it'll really start to fly. Of course the first step for serious performance is headers. Pass that "L" test so you can come to our meets !!! Tyler's putting his second gen to rest, and picking up a '79 fairly soon. By this summer we could have 4 first gens tearing up Nanaimo, 2 of them streetported....and maybe I'll get around to my half-bridge.
If you dont have to worry about emissions, then no. Your car does not need either to operate. However, when removing them, you hsould remove the other un-needed stuff related to it as well. Im not to familiar with the SA's emissions, so I'll let someone who is handle it. I do know, that if it were me, I would order the RB header for my car in a heartbeat if I didnt have to worry about emissions
. See my sig for what my exhaust consists of, and I dont have to worry about emissions as well

SA emissions component are the easy to remove, and by the looks of pictures in my manual we have the smallest rat's nest of anyone. With headers I'd have to recommend at least 1 presilencer, I lasted 3 hours with a straight pipe before the flashing red and blue found me. Probably heard me from the donut shop 10 minutes before I went past it, my fault for driving past Tim Hortons.
i'm sorry, hahahahahahahahhahahahahahahahahaha. ok i'm done. the thermal reactor is a 3k ton oven on the side of your motor. cook burgers in it or whatever but don't ever let it touch your car again. the presilencer will help your car to not sound like a psycho weedeater and deeper in exhaust note.
