Do I Need Aux Ports?
Do I Need Aux Ports?
Ok, so I was reading the post on the hooking up the aux ports and realized that I have them hooked up wrong. I now have them hooked up with vacuum off of the intake manifold. From what I understand from reading the previous post is that it should be hooked up from the exhaust. Well I dont have any ports in the exhaust to hook them up, so I need to know if they can be used wired open or shut. If so, what are the benefits to running them either way?

There is a current thread where I've posted a pic of a simple mod to open them with the exhaust back pressure. Overall performance, drive ability and low end torque is improved with them working. And I'm sure there are some that will argue the overall performance point with me, lol.
Here's a link to the thread.

i took off the actuators and lubed the plunger so they moved easily. But when i turn the shaft that turns the sleaves they barely turn. I think since they havent been used for i dont know how long that they are so carbon built up that they wont turn over. So i turned them halfway open and the car runs a little better and idles the same.
They most likely have a good deal of carbon buildup that's interfering with thier operation. Best course of action is to remove the dynamic chamber, UIM, LIM and take them apart for cleaning.
yeah but i stripped one of the screws that holds the plate that holds them in the slots in the manifold. So im just gonna leave em. It i just drove them forced open constantly and forced closed and i didnt notice any difference. With a bridgeport i dont think it matters much if they open or not. I have plenty of power.
