it all depends on the weather,
i run 5w30 in the winter,
and 50 weight racing oil in the summer

Ok your changing your engine to another used 'running' engine right? Swapping everything from the old block to the new one? If so your gonna need a engine change over gasket set..

On doing the swap :

The old motor is in there right? Just remove the old motor, put them side by side. and start swapping the parts.. Get a full gasket change over kit from Mazda before you do it. Also get a new dizzy cap, rotor button, spark plugs, oil, oil filter, antifreeze, air filter, clutch/pressure plate, throw out bearing, maybe new front and rear seals for the motor since its a used one?.

Guys am i missing anything?

From the other post you made, 'the big moment you have been waiting for or soemthing like that'

All I could think was how much it tasted like cornflakes and water... Sorry Bud, I'll stick with good stuff

do you have a hoist or other means of removing the engine? (i think you can rent them from some parts stores but i'm not sure) How about a floor jack and jack stands?

I prefer to have a vast array of cool power tools and the like, but it can easily be done with simple hand tools. You may want to get some extensions though.

All I seen you list were these?

automatic tranny filter and gasket
oil pan gasket

If you open the intake/exhaust whatever, your gonna need gaskets from them. Mazda sells a gasket kit, that is a kit that is for the sole purpose to swapping all your stuff over onto a new short block...

You may or may not need them, but be prepared, the motor mounts may not be in good shape.
And you will probably end up buying some odd size metric combo or box end wrenches. There are some different ones like for the oil cooler lines, pulleys, etc.
Very important question: Are you switching an engine from an automatic into an automatic? If not, do you have some way to remove the huge flywheel nut?

i think it was a manual.this is a new and interesting twist, because i didnt know that there is a huge flywheel nut on the engine? and does that mean i need to trash and remove the flywheel?

Yes, you will have to remove the 2 1/8 nut on the flywheel and bash it off with a hammer, then put your flexplate/counterweight off the auto engine on the new one.

You'll need some jackstands too. You'll wind up using your floor jack to hold the trans up so you can line it up with the engine.

i just got the belt for the radiator cuz i know that that is fucked right now...i havent looked under the engine lately to know what other belts i need but got the lower and upper radiator hoses.....

umm got to thinking...once i unbolt the tranny from the old engine is there anything from the old engine that im going to have to move over to the new engine? *where the old tranny was* and if so what will i be looking for and secondly
a big bolt for the flywheel and its just knocking something off? that simple? so i remove the bolt and then proceed to knock something off?

On a manual trans car the flywheel and the counterweight are made togther. On an auto theres a counterweight on the E-shaft (where the manual trans flywheel is on the new motor) .

On the new motor you will have to remove the nut and flywheel, and then on your old motor you will have to remove your old flexplate, big ole nut, and the counterweight and put them on the new motor
