The ACV. There's a plate that you can get on this page: http://mazdatrix.com/e7.htm

Are you removing the rest of the emissions? The usual reason for going dual pulley is after emissions removal.

ACV=Air control valve. It's located on the outboard side of the intake manifold, below the carb.

ACP=Automatic Colt Pistol. Like .45 ACP, etc. -WG

I think that I have all of them off, because of the previous owner. The only hoses I have going in to my air canister, are the air pump hoses, and the crankcase vent. So I dont know what it all looks like. Does anyone have a pic of the rats nest.

Will I encounter problems of I dont cap off the ACV. Or will I be OK.

All help will be greatly appreciated.

If you dont cap the ACV, you will have a giant vacuum leak on the side of your intake manifold .

By the way, heres a picture of the ACV block off plate, and the "other" (catalytic converter air feed, right?) block off plate on my car. Notice how lame my header looks even after only a couple munths ? I wish it was still shiney new looking . Oh well...

Doesn't the air pump also supply cooling air to the catalytic converters on '81 and above? My experience with air pump removal has all been with thermal reactor equipped cars.

The most notable plate that you will require is the ACCV plate, see:

Yes I believe the air pump(or ACV) also supplies air to cat in 81+ cars.
Removal of the air pump is typically part of the entire emmission crap removal, rats nest, cat, air pump, dual belt pulley.
Running the cat without an air pump is supposedly very bad mojo, I wouldn't know first hand however: the first thing I did was yank my cat off.
If you're still running a cat, and have th stock exhaust you might want to consider a racing beat exhaust.. or if you don't have the cash a bonez presilencer/racing pipe from rx7.com.

P.S. RotorMotorDriver where did you get that "other" (catalytic converter air feed, right?) block off plate?

Can you use anything else to for a cover plate, or is that it. Im having this done Monday, and I dont have time to order this part.

Can I just take the belt off for now, and remove the air pump assembly later when I have the plate.

But I would rather remedy this so I dont have to wait.

Thanks a lot!

Use the gaskets as templates and make them out of sheetmetal. I used .090 aluminum. The RB/M'trix plates are relly thick steel and kinda overkill just to block the ports. Cheaper that way too.

Weld all that shut? its aluminum and the holes are too big to weld. Now you could JB weld them shut, I did that on my 79 manny on my racecar and it works fine. saved about 0.0001 oz. of weight.

Hell with the pop can. Just duct tape the hole closed . Use some alcohol to clean up the surface so the tape sticks, and tape it closed . Haha, Im kidding of course, unless youre in a really tight pinch and need to go somewhere or something...Haha.

Seriously though, if you want to wait for the right parts, just take the belt off and wait. Theres no harm in that .

But will I be alright if I put a peice of sheet metal over it, and then weld the sheet metal to the manifold?

This seems easiest to me!
