Of course you can - a group buy is a Group buy!

See the link on the top of the thread!

I know I can......wanted to know how it could be done on our models...........and not have to pay alot to retro fit....

I have been looking at all the threads....and it looks like we have to change the thread pattern or upgrade to a later shifter.....

Damn, and it's still a lot of money. I have to hold out...

My wife and I have a $limit we're not supposed to cross w/out consulting the other

This shall be revisited in the future, though, it's just too cool.

I wonder what we'll be able to get 'em for next season

Heres the problem. The 83 and earlier tranny's have lower bushing permanetly inside the tranny, where as the 84 and later ones, have the bushing removeable.

The shifters swap, but what I'm wondering is if I got a mazdatrix short throw shifter at the same time, that way I'd have the right thread pitch, will the additional hardware you need for the short throw shifter that comes with the S5 short throw shifter work in the FB tranny, (83 and earlier)?

S5 will fit in all FB trannys as well as S4 trannys.
If this is true, and the ***** will fit a S5, couldn't you just re-cut the threads?
