It was originally a PM to another 1st Gen Member who asked me for details. I gave him more than he needed.
At the same time, I can alway refer to it for my needs and modify it. Kinda like a running list..

It's in the test area because it was too long for a PM, so I posted it there and then sent him the link.

By the way Mike - I confirmed the Boost Controller.
Greddy Profec-B [IMG]

Has Low and Hi Boost settings. It's a set and forget kind of thing. Also has the option of a REMOTE (Steering wheel) button to switch between low and High Boost settings. So you could keep it away in the glove box, and keep the button available a'la Knight Rider's "Turbo Boost".

Also has features to reduce lag, have boost off the line, etc. Very stable. Recommended by Crispeed himself.

WOW, $420!!! Its probally a very good controller tho, as long as the instructions are in English and not Japanese I think im gonna just do the cheapy thing for now. Im gonna use a Turbo XS controller, you set it under the hood for the maximum boost you want...

So whatcha think that will work decently for now?

Well looks a little better, but that guy is located in Japan on Ebay... **** be better off buying one at a reduced rate here in the states....

And I NEVER pay retail, so yeah I would have shopped around. But looks like :

autometer 2 1/16 boost
autometer 2 1/16 EGT
autometer 2 1/16 A/F
turbo XS boost controller
HKS Racing Bypass valve (blue)

looks like all for about $350

Keep in Mind the good EGT requires a Seperate probe, which is not cheap either.

I use the Aircraft Spruce dual EGT gauge that Paul Yaw reccomends on his site. As do three other rotary race cars I know. Works great, and I think it was $75 and that included two probes.

RPM Performance in Australia

What Happened? I was told that they had been quoting prices in the $880ish range with the E6K, 02 sensor, flying lead, and 3 bar sensor.

Here they are quoting prices for $1190! Is that in Australian Dollars?

From the RPM website
E6K Full kit inc' O2 and 3 Bar MAP for only $1190 US Delivered
For that price I could get it local in the U.S.!

Back to the boost controler,

I have one ready for my 12a, and I am scared s**tless to use it. See I put one in my friends T2, and I can not get the thing to work. I have the DIP switches set properly, boost **** are set to min. and the response nobb is set at the 12o'clock. Bost pressure goes over one bar, WTF!!!! I have played around with the nobbs nothing changes, I have tried the over boost DIP settings and nothing, please a little help!

Thanks
Ryan

Mike, Check out this Months (July 2002) Sport Compact Car Magazine.

I couldn't find it on their web site, but I did read it at the news-stand. It has a great article on Boost Controllers (pg 283).
It compared the:

HKS EVC EZ
HKS EVC IV
GREDDY PROFEC A
GREDDY PROFEC B
APEXi BLITZ SBC i-D
HOME DEPT SPECIAL - Ball Valve Bleed Screw

You would be VERY suprised at the results. To make a long story short..

GREDDY PROFEC B Kicked *** on all of them, cheaper, easy to install, easy to use, virtually eliminated Boost creep. Much better than the rest, even the Profec A

The Home Depot special came in 2nd!! Only problem was a little Boost creep now and then.

I' am just letting you know since you're about to buy one, so you don't waste hard earned cash on something you might not like.

I had a few PM's for $250 plus shipping, one was used, one was from Japan, etc..

I went ahead and ordered from Prelude Parts.com, it was $300+15 for the black model, plus shipping. At least it's new, and It's from a company, rather than an individial.

Let me know what you decide.
