"Lyme" Rock...

Just a small bitch session to you all explaining why I'm sitting my fat *** in front of my computer on such a fine day.
I had to see a doc last night because after 30 hours, my 104 temp would'nt go away. I told him it feels like someone beat me with a bag o' bolts all over.
He deduced that I have Lymes disease, and set me up with doxycycline. So I'm sweating profusely and it hurts my fingers just to type! I'm presently missing the Limerock Grand Prix right now (well, it's over now)...the one race all weekend that was going to have first gens in it.

I am going tomorrow and Monday with Dad and brother (tickets were already bought)...even if I gotta go in my bathrobe with a compress on my head!
I'm friggin goin!

mar3 are you kidding w/that? I'm not dying...I just feellike I am!

REVHED, in a town called Lyme in one of the states (Connecticut) A bunch of people started getting flu like symptoms. Then everyone seemed to have arthritus - even very young people.

It turned out it's an infection from being bitten by a tick...the really small kind.
If left untreated, the sickness can progress into something pretty dibilitating. It's really different for alot of people.
My wife had it bad two years ago. She's perfectly fine now.

Guys, I have'nt seen a doctor in ten years. Not for anything.
I feel like I have the flu, a hangover, and like I've been trampled by a herd of wild Hondas!

Doc says the antibiotic should kick in and I should feel ok in two days.

REVHED, you don't realize how scary the little critters over there are to us cause you live there. But we have far fewer nasty creepy-crawlys here!

Sterling, I take it you're not a big Simpsons fan? My post was actually a quote by Ralph Wiggum.

You're right about the creepy-crawlies over here. There's all sorts of poisonous **** around the area where I live. My dog actually almost died from having a tick so I know how you must feel.

Anyway, hope you get well mate.

Musta missed that one. I like Ralph Wiggum. He epitomizes the local cops around here!

Ralph rules. Trying to remember the episode, but the teacher had it, either that or she faked having it.

My favorite Ralph is though when he's standing at the mailbox playing with the flag and every time he raises it, he gets happy and laughs, then he lowers it and gets all sad.

Sterling, I don't want to be an alarmist, but the reason Lyme tick disease made news was because it did kill some people until the medical investigators figured out the vector...they all thought they had flu and didn't get treated and paid the price when it was too late to stop the progression of the disease...

Oh. I did'nt know that. I can't imagine having to go through any more of that fever!
It broke this morning, and about 75% of all my pain just went right away within a few hours.
Now I just feel a little crappy, but no fever and no migrane.

I did go to the show today. Turn out was pretty sad, probably due to anticipated bad weather. However it only sprinkled in the morning.

I had never been to a "Import car show" per say...I guess. I dunno. Seems I've seen alot of imports at car shows. Maybe they've changed.

Better than 33% were Hondas. (O.K.; Just kinda usual.)
15% Had some rap song blairing from their car. All of the songs were different, however they all used the words, "******" and "****". And they were all very loud. (God I HATE rap music!)
80% were just about the body glitter (fiberglass, carbon fiber, and paint), and pretty engine parts.

I was rather disappointed, actually. I did'nt get to see much of anything that was truely unique and creative. Lots of nice paint art, but no metal fab art (meaning custom parts or custom bodywork).

Did get to talk with a guy that had the only rex there (another damn shame...there was only ONE...and it was a THIRD!)
Anyway, he was real nice, and seemed just as interested in my first gen info as I was in his car. He described himself as "a bit of a purist, as you can see", as he pointed to his car. It was only then that I realized that his 3rd gen rex was all stock, and looked better than anything else around it, all sporting kits and carbon.

Anyway, I doubt I'll be attending another one of these types of shows.
...Cept for the hos! Saw a buncha hos! Asian hos! MMM MMM MMM MMM MMMMM

I went to a car show/drag meet on Sunday myself.

It was only for cars '86 and up so there weren't many decent rotors there but the drag racing was good.

The HKS Syline was over from Japan (ran a 7.8) and it put on an awesome flame spitting display. Saw a couple of 7 second FD's there as well... both with 20B's.

There was one FB there that was brought in as a replacement for someone but he popped the wheels up on the launch, got all pair shaped and slapped the wall at 1/2 track. Doh.

And yes, you gotta love the babes at these car shows. OMG.
