I was looking to setup my 1ST gen with the following direct ignition set up. Just want to know if this is the smart thing to do with out using the 2ND gen coil.

and all you would need is one 6AL. Two if you want. One 6AL would be just fine running two coils.

I have all of the items on that drawing already, I just need to know if it is wise to do it the way the drawing shows, dedicating 1 6AL to each leading coil. The set up I use now is 1- 6AL for leading coil and 1- 6AL for trailing non direct ignition set up. I don't like that whole jumping between the two coils intended for the leading spark. To me it seems like the second coil may not be getting the same amount of juice as the first coil that the 6AL is conected directly to but thats just me, I am not a Pro at this so forgive me if what I am saying sounds dumb, I'm just curious. Thank

I do not see why not then. If you got all the parts then go for it. 3 6als will draw a bit of power. Let us know how it goes.

I sure will and hopefully I can upgrade to a 100amp alternator and stronger battery to see if this helps with the power draw from the 3 - 6AL boxes.
