I dont know where to start I am thinking an electrical problem but I dont know... somebody help me out... I am nowdriving the SVT again and I havent even got to try out my new MSD

You either hooked the tach wire up wrong, or didnt hook it up, or hooked an ignitor up wrong. Tach wire should be plugged into the coil.
Dont know about your fuel pump though

Sure it can work of either but the factory had it running off the trailing on 81-85 model cars. (maybe '80 too)
It would help if the author of the thread would provide more info about his car.

Yeah, I bet this is yet another '84-'85 fuel pump weirdness thread. Your trailing ignitor might have expired. That's the only thing I can think of because direct fire on a 1st gen affects leading only.
'80 tach was on leading because trailing would only fire part-time (to keep the fire lit inside the thermal reactor).

I have an 85 with and 84 motor. and lets just assume I did use the wrong igniotor for my msd is that bad and how do I hook the tach back up. you guys are talking about a tach wire and I dont really know where to locate this said wire. and as for the fuel pump I guess I am gonna replace it today. I want to use a bigger pump and mount it in the engine bay but I dont know how the stock pump is connect to the car.

Anthony, the tach wire is the wire directly under the trailing coil. It should have a connector on it.
About your new pump install. DONT mount it in the engine bay as the pump will work harder because it has to suck the fuel down and up into the engine bay as oppose to pushing it.
Hope this helps. Ed
By the way get under the car and see if your getting power to the pump. Also check your fuse.

AGAIN: YEAR of the car would help.
The fuel pump fuel in located in the fuse block. If a '84-85 the fuel pump will not get power unless the car is started/cranking over. I believe its a relay that controls power going to the fuel pump.
Why would you change the fuel pump if it worked fine prior to your attempt at installing direct fire?
