Differential interchange question?Will an SE differential fit my 84 GS???

will an SE diff fit my 84 GS??? i just want to accomplish getting the LSD and better gear ratio the cheapest way possible. i need some opinions and some recommendations.

Assumong you have the original 84 rear axle assembly, the SE center section is a bolt-in swap.

Just so you understand that you're giving up a clutch pack in the LSD and changing your axle ratio....

He will be going from a 3.90 open diff, to a LSD with 4.08 ratio. Where's the down side, other than a slightly innaccurate speedo, unless he also gets the speedo gear from the GSL-SE.....

I've been told the same. Never tried it, though. Sposed to be a direct swap in the 84/85 big axle rearends.

i'm not really worried about the whole speedo offset... i just want a faster launch and better handling throughout turns
