differential info??

Looking to hear from people who have had problems with their differentials, axles as far as noises and if they were grounded by them. I am pretty sure my whole problem is back there but can't do anything for a couple of weeks. Seems to be better after driven some. But when I first take off feels like clutch chatter then chirp the tires because it just catches all of a sudden. Usually better to just let the clutch out slow. Well any thoughts be appreciated.

I've had a 'clunking' noise when I let out the clutch (after a shift). I'm sure that it's either the differential or the driveshaft u-joints.

Crawl under the car and grab the driveshaft and see what kind of play is there in it. In gear, engine off. Hold the diff input while doing this. You may be able to isolate the problem.

I had a bad tranny mount which caused the driveshaft U-joints wear, then the added vibration caused my tranny to wear down quicker. I was an '85, so who really knows which wore out first. All three were replaced for new.

The aftermarket driveshafts like the ones Mazdatrix carries have replacable U-joints, unlike the factory.

Got a new Mazdatrix driveshaft just wondering if the differential will make it a couple of weeks before falling apart on me?
