Differential conversion plz help me

Hi want to put a LSD from an 84 GSL on my 85 GS. Will I need to modify anything else or is it a straight swap? Some advice plz.

Need the E-brake cables from the LSD rear end....other than that everything else is the same.

If you were to be really picky, they have different master cylinders.

Other than that its easy as said above.

^If you're doing the whole axle he's right.

If you're just swapping the differential and keeping drum brakes, it's a straight in and out.

I just put in a LSD from an 84 SE into my 85GS and fit perfectly. didn't have to do anything with the axles. Just pull them out, put the new LSD in and axles back in tighten a few bolts, bleed the brakes and BAM....the fun can begin!

gs end has 4 bolt on the backing plate the gsl has 3 bolts on backing plate also the axles of the gs are thinner axels , gsl axels are thicker with that said you cant put the internals of gsl into the gs rear. so your best bet like we stated above just drop in the gsl rear on there it bolts right up with no problems and just get the e brake cables and off you go.

All of the S3 diffs interchange, period. Doesn't matter which model. Of fact, all diffs interchange within thier OWN series, period.
