Difference in IDA manifolds????

Ok, so I bought an IDA setup off e-bay and the guy said that it was for a 12a. Turns out it is for a 13b. So I start looking and find another manifold about 3 weeks later that the guy said it was for a 12a. Waited for another 2-3 weeks till I finally got it in the mail...(shipped it to the wrong adress 3 times?!?!), pulled it out and it is smaller than the 12a nikki manifold that I have. The 12a is 20mm shorter than the 13b, the manifold I have now is 20mm shorter than the 12a.

So the question is, what engine was made 20mm shorter than the 12a? Was it the 10a?

Oh yea, the guy said that he would give me my money back if I paid for all the "shipping" that he did and pay for the return shipping. I paid 160, he will give me back WAY less than that.

In closing, does anyone have a 12a IDA downdraft manifold that they want to trade for a 13b or the other one I have, or just want to sell one??? I really want my car to run.

10a manifold ????

Sounds like you found a manifold that was made for the 10a engine, used in the old R100. They may have been used in RX-2s also, someone here knows the answer to that one.

10A housing - 60mm
12A housing - 70mm
13B housing - 80mm

You've got some bad luck...

Edit- The RX-2 actually used a 12A

Damn, someone trade me both of these for a 12a. The 10a one is brand new, the 13b one is used but in very good condition.

Sounds like BS to me. "Shipped to the wrong address" is eBay code for "yeah yeah, I'll ship it someday". Even if he did in fact do it 3 times, you're not liable for his stupidity.

I'd take it to eBay and let them sort it out after the 30-day(?) period. He claimed it was for a 12A and it wasn't, which = false item description.

Edit: Just realized that you never mentioned if the 10A mani was from eBay or not.

If it is a 10a intake, put it up for sale on the aussie forum. there are a few of them there.

I had the same problem. I bought a Jay-Tech intake for a 13b. So far I have mocked up or test fitted that intake on a late 70's 13b, a GSL-SE, an S4 NA and an S4 TII. It fits none of them. I'm guessing it fits an REW, and it will probably be a cold day in hell before I buy one.

What years are different with the 13b manifolds? Are there different dimensions? How would I tell the difference? I have a guy that may want to trade a 12a for my 13b manifold, but I don't want to screw him.

A 4 port, and I don't have a 13b engine, just a 12a.

I ordered one 2 months ago and they didn't have any in stock. They called me 3 days ago and asked me if I still wanted it. I don't have 280-300 that they were asking for it shipped, so they sent it on to the next guy in line and if I reorder it it will probably be just as long.
