To use an 83+ radiator you'll need to relocate the oil cooler.
In 83 Mazda switched to the "beehive" oil cooler under the filter which uses water to cool the oil so that radiator is taller.

I'm going to give the koyo a try the radiator is the size of the radiator and oil cooler combined.. First impression it looks like the oil cooler can be moved in front of the radiator like the 83's. For the oil cooler maybe use some 90 degree angle stock and stud the current rad mounting holes. For the radiator maybe redrill the flange for mounting holes and use a 83 fan shroud maybe.

You can easily make new oil cooler hoses using AN fittings that you can get from RacingBeat with this kit on amazon. I used it for doing a 3rd party oil cooler and they worked really well. No special tools needed to make the hoses.
