dies in hot weather

My stock '84 12A dies when the weather is real hot. It runs fine in weather up to about 90 degrees, but much over that and I can't drive very far without the engine dying. Sometimes, if I let the engine cool off it will restart about 30 minutes later. I replaced the radiator last year and the engine isn't running hot. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Sounds like possible vapor lock. Or maybe your fuel pump is crapping out when it gets hot. When it dies, look at the fuel level in the float windows and see if its dry.

Thanks, I'll check that next time it dies. It may be a while, though, since it is cooling off here in Minnesota. I suspected that it was something with the fuel. The shop I take it to thought it might be the computer!?! Thanks again.

now THAT's funny!

AFAIK, the computer in the 1st Gen only does really important jobs like dimming the interior lights. lol

I thought it was funny, too. I haven't been back there since they told me that.
