Desperately need some guidance

OK so heres the story .......
I was driving my sister to a friends about (2hours there and back). Stopped at afriends then went out and started driving home. about 30 mins after leaving my car stalls so i pull over try to start it. it just about fires up then stops so know im turrning it over and not even trying to fire up. So i towed it home today its still got oil in it. But its like somthing is wrong with the electrical, or the fuel delivery (ohh and yes i have half a tank of gas in it). i checked all the fuses they are all good. I tried pull starting it.. ran for bout 20 second s till i put it in nutrel. I need some guidance... is this gonna cost me or should i look at just getting a new car?

step by step

You need to check to see that you have all the things needed to make it run. Fuel, air, spark. The fuel filter is a good starting place.
Then be sure you have spark.
Let us know what you find.
