Proven to be the best so far on my Bro-in-law's 68 Firebird with a 455. He's had Holley's on it but the Demon just seems to be better all around. Don't know the details about tuneability and parts, I just know it performs better.

and they are cheaper than a holly? could you not change the CFM by jetting differnetly...i have just been thinking lately...i have lightend the car...port matched and pollished the intake, built myself a set of headers...threw away the emissions bullshit why not upgrade the carb...
i suspose the stirling/carl way is the way to go but its all a matter of cash flow...

They're cheaper than the better, improved Holley's but not the original Holley design carbs which are also still produced...only one range of Demons have removable venturi to change the CFM rating of the carb, but, again, that starts at 650 CFM, too much for 90% of the street driven NA 12As out there even with a big street port...

True, but that is w/o the removable venturi, so that CFM rating cannot be changed. With a little tuning on when the secondaries kick in, it might be usable on a big streetport 12A...
Since you found it, how much does it go for these days?

With the increased displacement, I think you may be right, but it'd have to be modded like a Holley to work on a rotary for the same reasons you can't simply bolt a Holley on and expect it to work...

*leafs through latest summit racing catalog* ( i used to own a Chevelle...)
Road Demon 525cfm, Vac. 2ndaires, Elec. Choke..... $289
Speed Demon 575cfm, Mech 2ndaries, No Choke......$439
theres you go... Road Demons look tiny compared to any of the other demons/holleys i've seen, much smaller fuel bowls it looks like.
