WI Decent muffler? Exhaust questions.

OK so I'm looking at doing my own custom exhaust, and want to know what a decent muffler would be.

I know glasspacks and pretty much any regular mufflers are out for the most part. It needs to be available in 3" inlet and (if possible) a dual 2.5" or 3" (or single 3") outlet.

I'm thinking I might do the under-the-rear-suspension style exhaust, since it's a summer-only car, and weaving that 3" through the suspension would be a ball buster.

It needs to be somewhat quiet and more importantly not too expensive and not restrictive. Power > Price > Sound.

Also does anyone make a 2.5" engine to exhaust flange? I want to set my exhaust up for when it's ported, and I'll be needing a 2.5" exhaust flange to make my custom header.

EDIT: Or do you guys think 3" is too big and I should stick with 2.5" straight back?

It's an SA, and it's going to be (eventually) P-Port and S/C'd. It's gonne be loud. It does have an FB front bumper though, but that will be fixed soon enough.

It has no exhaust right now. I'm not going to buy a quiet exhaust just to change it out later.

If you are going SC PP 12a, then go with that. 4" Exhaust ftw, PP's love to breathe. I hope your SC can handle it...

This reminds me of the one thread of the guy claiming to have a 12aPPSC

No claims of having one here. Dreaming of one, yes. Having one, no. Probably not until 2010.

4" you say? Wow that's pretty huge. I'll say that would be ecessive on a stock port...

I have a 90 cu. in. s/c, capable of 14k... so it should be able to handle a P-Port.

We really have enough of these exhausting questions. Searching with the term(s)
Exhaust or muffler would get you the answers.

I have found the ultimate thread for you. If you have anymore questions that have not been covered in the thread link then please feel free to bump up the thread.
