Dead seatbelt retractor

How can i fix this, preferably w/o replacing parts!!!

The setbelts pull back VERY slowly, if at all. they come loose pretty easily too.

Thanks!!

I took the retractor out of a trans am I had a few years back. There was a little gear that spins when you pull the belt. If you pull the belt too fast, like when you fly forward after slamming on the brakes, this spring loaded metal tab comes out to jam the gear, stopping you from hitting the window. The retractor is achored to the chassis, and shouldn't be too hard to get too. The spring on the tab could be messed up so that the tab is constantly jaming the gear. Take it apart and check it out. Worse case senario, you would have to go to a junk yard and get another retractor.

I have about 4 sets of seatbelts...Two from an abandoned 7 on the side of the road (you know the ones people dump and get beat to hell and shot at by bored teenagers), and two in my parts car...

Uh...Sorry? I mean, it was just so beat up and lousy looking...I felt I had to take it apart to put it out of its own misery...
