Question Dead For 2 Years

I have an 85 RX7... and it's been a lawn ornament for the last year and 7 months! Prior to its demise there were other "minor" problems with it (no a/c or heat, no radio, needs paint...other than paint the body is in great condition, etc), and at this point I don't know if it is going to be worthwhile to try to fix it since there are probably more problems added to the ones it already had. I have no automotive connections for help and I'm a student so my income is limited. Basically I just want to get some suggestions from more experienced 1st gen owners about what to do??? I don't even know what it's worth so I haven't tried to sell it.

first and foremost welcome to the rx7 club forums and the darkside. read the frequently asked questions thread stickied at the top of the main 1st gen page and there will be a lot of helpful information and resources available to guide you from there. take some pictures of your car and post them up. that we we can have a better idea of what kind of shape your car is in and what it is worth. good luck!

I doubt it would be tough to fix. It's certainly at least worth spending an afternoon with to see where you're at.

A quick way to go about getting some help is to look locally, in the regional area of the forum. I know that here in Atlanta, we've got a pretty helpful group. Outside of that, let us know just where you're at with the car. Do you have a battery? If so, does it crank? If so, can you get it to run briefly? The fluids should still be good if it was running 2 years ago, but check their levels anyway.

Welcome to the club, Chica!

I am new to the club and working on fixing up my 1st gen as well.

... best thing to do is network with people online in your area - you might find someone who is willing to come and take a look at it with you and let you know if it's hopeless or not.

If you decide to go for it, pick up a manual for the car and start to tinker on your own! Keep in mind that as long as you don't put any new holes in it and you don't blow it up, it can be rescued with some help!

There are lots of resources out there.
