DCD pics and stuff

ok well i FINALLY got to install my freshly rebuilt (4 mts back) R.E. Dual DCD intake. the install was ok... had 1 miner bumb but thats to be expected when u play with moded stuff. i had to put a stock water neck back on because the 2nd gen 1 hit the carbs... so ill have to put my water temp in the water pump housing now i guess. other than that the install went well. now i have to sync/tune them. i have a 1200rpm idle and with them out of sync it sounds like a bridge port.... brap brap brap. oh it made my #$%^ hard. ill sync them tomorrow and let you know how well they do... i did go on a 7 mile cruise with them as is and i found something.... its called TORQUE. it felt like the front end was gonna lift off the ground i was like DAM my dellorto never did that. and @ 3400rpm it wants to go like a bat outa hell.
if anybody (manntis) has a copy of the r.e. book that came with this or 1 of there cats. i'd love to get a copy.

David and yes thats me wrenching on my baby

I'm never scared.

I know you still have to synch them. Let me know if you need me to help you drop the car off for a day somewhere - in case you don't want to wait on it.

Looks sweet bro. Just finished mine today also. Definately a beast. Are you going this week-end (NOPI)? If so, see you there. No Rotary Hotel this year?

ok the rad. is a stock mount SHORT 1" core from indigo. i got it from srx7.com but im not happy with it. it was $700. i was told A. it would allow the stock oil cooler to bolt up... WRONG no bracket. B. i was told it already had the bolt holes WRONG AGAIN . for 700 the dam thing should have installed its self. but other than that i like the look and it does its job.
and no they are dual 2 brrl 36mm dcd webers

What jets, air bleeds, emulsion tubes, etc. are you running? I have the same carbs on my streetport and would love to compare notes. By the way, I use a throttle spring off a stock nikki on mine - stiff once you hit the secondaries but still nice.

david, don't use an electronic gauges, use mechanical. less things to fail with mechanical gauges. no sending unit to mess with. i just installed an autometer 2 1/16" water temp gauge and just removed that sensor in the water pump housing and tapped the hole to 3\8"NPT , bought the 3/8" NPT brass fitting and it works great. bought everyting from summit racing.com

The one that has the black rubber cover over it, fits perfect.

Looks good, but dont expect fuel efficent with horsepower, those 2 will never mix

Ought to see how much gas I have gone through and I may have driven the car a 1/2 mile at most...
