Dash pot??

What is the purpose in the dash pot for the SE???? And how do I adjust it???

The dash pot keeps the throttle from slamming closed during deceleration on carburated vehicles, I imagine that it would do the same on a EFI vehicle. I can't say that I know how to adjust them, but check out the manual:

You're right. It also helps keep the cat(s) alive.

Blazer, it can be adjusted by loosening the nut and then rotating the entire thing one way or the other. Clockwise will increase its influence over the throttle, keeping it from closing very quickly.

Thats what it does. I thought it was usless, because I was playing around woth the throttle while the car was cold and it seemed like the throttle was slamming anyway. Well! After the car warms up and the thermowax has dropped the throttle and you rev and let go of the throttle it acts like a spring cussion when you let go of the throttle. If you remove i you would have to bumb the throttle up so that it will not bogg down.

Sterling carbs have no dash pot. No problemo.
