that darn clock

i needed to install a new antenna wire in the car which obviously involved removing the trim panel and the assorted stuff attached to it. i must have disturbed the natural order of things because prior to all this my clock worked great, afterwards only the hour displayed. i bought a used clock off ebay and it had one dead/faded digit itself. i recalled i had a new in box autometer "hot rod" style clock in the garage from another ill fated project, so with a little trickery and effort installed it complete with the correct color illumination. i honestly like the way it looks, but hey, flame on if you want

I like it, it looks classy. I mounted my wideband there instead

Another +1 vote. Much nicer than the 80s digital.

You did great! A lot of people would get one of those cheap digital watches, remove the band and stick it on the dead clock face with tape.

I think that looks OK, but it would be better if you could match the AC ***** with trim rings (or maybe paint the trim ring on the new clock so it matches the panel it's mounted to)

I'd contact Autometer and see if you can just get the bezels, so they would match 100%.

Looks good too

the bezels are press fit into the sides of the gauges so there'd be no way to mount them without some serious hacking.
