Damn my car, or maybe my dad.

Broke down going to work friday. Made it about a mile from my house, then it dies. I get it started, and it dies again, smoke pours out of the exhaust, so i push it off the road and I manage to get a ride to work. I call home from work later on and my father says that he got my car home and that he will adjust the floats on the carb the next day. So i steal his car, and he takes mine. I get home and my friend has over his turbo II and we need to get it some exhaust seals. So we hop in my car which my father has driven for 150 miles and get about half a mile before it pulls the same ****. So i push it about a hundred yards off the road and pop the hood. I open the carb lid and smoke comes out or the primary barrels and there is standing gas in the secondary barrels... i have my friend turn the ignition over and i see gas just dripping out of the venturies *i think* at a good rate. So while he turns my car over i stand there amazed as i see how much gas is being dripped into my carb at a rate that is just flooding the hell out of it with Smoke rollin out of the primary barrels.... Alright... feel free to intercede at any point in the next random babbleing.

Alright, my dad rebuilt my carb a while ago... mainly because "he dosen't trust me to do it" *He is a jack *** but thats another story.* So my car ran okay. Then after my msd install it runs like ***, and hot... i guess like hot ***, but in a bad way. Due to the heat, i was guessing it was running lean so i pulled off the fuel lines and put them into a container and started my car. It ran for about 30 seconds then died, with very very little gas in the tub i put the lines back on. So i got a holley blue, hooked it up, regulated it to 3 psi, and now this is happening. Did my father screw up my carb rebuilding it? What can i do to rectify my situation *BTW im broke*. I won't say i know alot about rx7's or carbs, in fact i know a little, so please try not to use to much technical jargon if possibly. Also, false hope will be appreciated, but so will blatent truth. Im sick of asking my father *who wouldn't give me a glass of water if i was on fire* for help, i really don't think he has any idea what he is doing.

Incredibly pissed/depressed/angry/broke/ect....
Billy

Sounds like exactly what happened to me. Secondary float was stuck open. Try tapping around it with a hammer, and hitting it with some carb cleaner. If that doesn't work, it's time to pull it apart again and clean and reset the floats/needles.

Try taking a look at the needle valve and make sure there are no nicks in them. If there are then they need replaced or the fuel will just flow past them and flood the engine.

go to advance auto and get a 20 dollar rebuild kit. it will have new gaskets, acc pump, and needles. it will also have the float measurments and a handle little ruler to measure with. i rebuilt my carb without ever really seeing one before and my car runs fine. and make sure you have the two little *****. there are some small parts in there.
