Cut air pump belt?

I wanted to change the worn out alternator belt on the 85, noticed I had to remove the air pump belt first. Went to loosen the air pump bolt, SNAP, the rusted bolt sheared off! Now what? Can I just cut the air pump belt and forget it, or 'bad idea'? I have a straight pipe exhaust with one cat and a muffler.
Opinions? thanks

Im not sure but if you have a six port 13B on your 85 the air pump activates the high speed auxiliary ports to make more power. Check . But you could wire them open. The air pump is for emissions also. ...Rotarius

I'm sure its just the 12A, anyone take off the air pump (specifically, just remove the belt with any side effects?

The air pump does NOT actuate the 6-port actuators on GSL-SE's, exhaust backpressure does.

Removing the air pump belt with no other changes will result in rapid alternator belt failures as well as possible idle/driveability issues.
