Is it an aftermarket cruise control, or OE?

I'd just plug it in any of the four vacume ports on the driver's side of the nikki. If it works.. OK.. If it don't... find another hole

yes its the factory cruise, you mean the ports on the canb spacer under the carb? ive heard that the 2nd port from the front on that spacer goes to the vacumm advance, i was just kinda affaid i might screw it up if i hooked it up to the wrong port.

It won't permanatly damage the vacume advancer if its stuck in the wrong port. I could be mistaken (I haven't looked at my Nikki in a while), but I belive there are only strait on vacume ports. I don't think there are any at an angle.

Shoot, I'm using an Edlebrock carb and it seems to advance ignition fine.

It needs to be on a manifold vacuum source. I'll try to remember to check tonight. It's actually very easy, just find the port it was on on the rats nest hard pipe rail, and follow it to it's respective hole on the carb vacuum plate.

Looks like the furthest forward port (towards front of engine.)

The first port tee's off many times, you could use the third and forth port which connect to the back rotor however, keeep in mind that the shutter valve turns that rotor off when deceling, so if you were declerating but then you wanted to speed back up you'd have to give it a little gas to get vacuum flowing to that back rotor and have cruise work...
