Crappy cold idle....and coild questions.

Just got my rx and I'm trying to sort out the bugs. The car runs great. But when starting it cold (full to half choke depending on weather) it sounds like it's missing. It slowly cleans up as it warms up. Once warm it purs at 700rpm idle and drives perfect. Even when the car is cold it seems to accelerate fine just idle speeds sound horrible. The plugs wires and fuel filter are all new. Pulled a plug its golden brown in the middle and dark brown/black ring around the outer edges.

I'm assuming ths is the coils? But I wanted to run it by all the other FB owners.

Help me out guys, It's embarassing to start up my FB in the parking lot at work and hae it sound so horrible...

Here's my big question about DLIDFIS and coils. Why would a 2nd gen coil be better than say a 51,000v race coil from summit? like so... ?

No comparison go read the write up on the DLISFIS, its not just a bigger coil but reroutes the spark so its a stronger and more direct path.

How rich is the car running, try a little less choke...

It cleanes out a little if I easy way up on the choke, but then it's a fine line between the engine stalling out. I'll try leaning the idle a tad and see if that helps.

Thanks, I'll end up going with the DLISFIS route I'm sure. Just a matter of time trying to make it to a junk yard.
