Yeah- all kidding aside i'm sure the wait is worth it. These great cars have been waiting over 20 years for the opportunity to handle and steer like a real sports car, i'm sure they can wait a few more weeks/months/god i hope not years!

Thumbs up MEGA DESIGN CHANGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok here is the situation...I woke up one morning last week and had an incredible idea. I wish I had this design figured out months ago but my brain did not give me the idea until recently soooooooooo thats what has been taking so long.
The kit is now a tubular design and is 8 pounds lighter from design #1 yet is some 40% stiffer and it locates the rack in the xact same spot as the factory 1st gen center link. Also nothing hangs down under the car like it used to.
I desinged, built, and installed the new kit on Pat's car at CP Racing yesterday and I cant even begin to descibe how well it works. Pat took it for a drive, came back and had uncontrolable PERMA SMILE!!!

You guys probably want me to post pics but the kit will be ready 4sale much sooner than the length of time it will take me to post them. The system is completely built in house now so quality will be 2nd to NOOOOOOOOOOBODY.
So everybody listen up. This is not a 1st gen wet dream, it is very very real.

Thankyou 2all that are waitng patiently

So your either really slow on the camera or the kit is going to be out and for sale within the next couple hours.

My car has been waiting for this since 1984. It can wait a little longer if it needs to.

Not to be a pessimistic *** or anything, I'm as much for this kit as anyone - but I find this disappointing for two reasons:

1) At the rate this is going, the kit will never see the light of day as a widely available product, and; 2) It sounds like the old kit (the one we've been waiting on) has been replaced by this much better kit - which, of couse, makes you wonder what kind of (old) kit we've been waiting on...

I don't take this as a reflection on the people trying to fab this mod, it just illustrates how difficult it is to design and produce a product...

Though I hope like mad to see this conversion someday, my vigil is over.

Things look promising as far as I can tell. I think we can wait a little longer for a perfect product. We don't want something rushed and then find out that we are going to die because of a system failure of some kind. heh

I just want this damn kit before my track day on Sept. 28th. I'm gonna be pissed if I have to rebuild the Pitman box just to replace it 2 weeks later.

Screw waiting... gimmie now!!!

Seriously though, you have been saying "soon" for many many weeks. I have server doubts this kit will see the light of day any time "soon".

I have server doubts this kit....
Server doubts? Is that the kind of doubt you have when you're trying to run a Windows NT server for more than three workstations?

Ever patient (after 20 years of Wonder Steering) I await the conversion for my 83. I'm sure it's less trouble to convert than to adjust the old worm system.

if its being built in house using tube and movining it foward to the corect place It has got to be better. I was still a little worried about the last design. It may have worked. it just looked like something was wrong with the angles still. this new design hopfully changes that. from the time it takes with pics it must be for sale right now. whats the price??????

dont you know you can only have one or the other? :P: I dont think we will ever see both at the same time.
I wonder what made them think to change the design so late in the game. Before it sounded like the frames were in production. guess not.

What he should have done was to finalize the product before ever letting any word of its existence or development get out. That way he wouldn't have to hear anyone bitch about whats taking so long. I get so busy that I don't have time to do simple things around the house let alone develop something that I intend to sell. I'm not as nice as J Oliver is. He has been very patient with the criticism and never lost his temper. If anyone can't wait, go out and build one yourself. I guarantee he won't mind.

I hope this is no sign of the customer service to come after/if the product is ever released. this type of **** is just not good buisness etiquette (sp). Just make me think what else is to come even after the kit is released

I'm just as anxious as everyone else to see the finished product but lets face it here, I seriously doubt that Chris and those involved are trying to 'get rich quick' or make a **** pile of money here. Let's be realistic-The product is for vehicle that has been out of production for 17 years, has a narrow following and will be responsible for steering these older cars, many of which are modified extensively. I'm not privy to the costs associated with this product, but I'm in commercial lending and things like R&D time, raw materials, production costs and other associated cost of goods sold for this product look like a signifigant portion of the bottom line price. Plus-I would make sure the damn thing works and works well before I get it to members of the forum (the first and most likely largest market). Plus- I think it was a good idea to get the initial designs out on the forum so we could offer feedback, as some of you guys have very, very valuable input

I think it's fun to poke fun and prod him on his product debut, but I certainly don't think business etiquette has a role in this particular case. As a matter of fact, if it takes longer to design it better, so be it. But what the hell do I know, I'm just my dumb West Virginian
