Could I get advice on building a reliable SE motor?

It appears Audrey has poor compression in the rear rotor.

So I need a rebuild. I know someone who can rebuild it, and street-port it for me while he's at it. I just want to know what stuff would be a good idea to do while it's all apart.

I have about a $2500 budget. I want to find a balance of performance and reliability with this motor because it will be a daily driver. I want to keep it fuel injected, and get at least decent gas milage on the highway.

So far I might put in second gen rotors (89-92? not good with FC trivia), hardened stationary gears (for durabuility, not spelling), balanced eccentric shaft, and better apex seals.

Maybe that's way above my budget, but I still want to know what all the options are.

Personally if you want a decently quick and reliable car I would and plan to do this

Rebuild & Streetport
Full RB Exhaust
Lightened Flywheel
E- Fan

Depending on how cheap the rebuild and exhaust you find are. Think about an aftermarket ECU because Ive heard these really open the the engine up and help get alot more power and gas milage. IE (MicroTech, Haltech)

That should keep your pockets emplty for a while, then there are suspension uprgrades and other things you can throw money at.

dude, i would suggest against it. do a search about these on this forum and you'll see plenty of people that have had very bad experiences. one of them relates to me, i sold my set along with an engine i had to a friend and when he put them in, they fell out and destroyed his motor. it seems to be happening alot. the risk isnt worth the few ponies you may recieve. remember, you want to be reliable.

If you want reliable and performance, this is the route I would suggest:

4port 13b
89-92 NA rotors with 3mm apex seals
Large Streetport
Weber or RB Holley
MSD
Electric fan
Duel Alternator Pulley and Main underdrive

It doesn't get any simpler then that, and you will be pushing over 200hp

The "Don't ask" part is about the body kit in the new Avatar.

The yummy *** girl was removed by Ryan because he said it had nudity in it. It didn't. But I wasn't going to argue.
