Cost to replace clutch

Just trying to figure out a price on this. I've heard alot of different things that have to be done like resurfacing the flywheel. Just wondering is it worth saving the money to have someone else do it? What would be an average price for this? Any help would be great!

thats what i was looking for was labor. I refuse to "bring it on down here so we can look", if you cant tell me a price on the phone, you will base the price on how dumb i look with cars.

Sorry, looking at the boobies.

Normally you dont need to resurface the FW. It takes me about a 1/2 day to do one so whatever the labor rates are, let that be your guide. I dont have a lift or anything either.

The monster socket to get the flywheel nut off and a 500 ft-lb impact to drive it...and here's some help if you've got this year range..

If it's an SA/FB in the Year Range '79 -'82...

I got my clutch from O'Reilly's. And the average quote I was getting from folks for labor wasn't more than 300. Mine was done for 200

Link is wrong, I fixed it for you. But if the flywheel doesnt need to be resurfaced it doesnt need to be removed right?

The last time I mentioned bringing my own clutch kit I was told they would just charge more for labor. " The book says $400 and that is what we are going to charge no matter what". Damn 'em, do it yourself, even if it takes 2 days. While your in there it wouldn't be a bad idea to do the pilot bearing also. PITA to do but worth it in the long run. I spent 3 days doing mine and 2 1/2 was trying to get the bearing out without cuting it out, which I had to do anyways.

Yup. No need to remove it. So no special tools required.

All I did was take a bit of sandpaper and steel wool to ruff it up a bit. Be sure to clean it REALY good though.
