Corvette 3rd Brake Light ..questions...

Hey

What is the best way to hook up this 3rd brake light.........I talked to a guy wo had done this a sevenstock........he blew fuses all the time.....said he spiced into the brake line in the back.......and had a seperate ground........and it would blow........

Is there a better way?

Mine is all painted and ready to go on........

All you do IS splice into the brake light's wire. no seperate ground, keep it in a series.

If it blows the fuse (which it shouldn't.)

WWilliam is right.

A four prong relay will do the trick. One prong ground. One prong To 3rd brake Light. One prong To Power. One Prong To Brake Light Switch or Wire At Bulb.

Don't Forget to get a good ground to the 3rd brake light too.

Is that one of those light strips or just a single bulb thing?

The light strip may require some sort of transformer or assorted gizmo.
