Cooling thread off Topic Again
Ok so I got the day off but I am puzzled at what could be causing the overheat in my cooling system I am hoping you guys cam shead some light on the problem for me. The car overheats after driving I'd say about 5 miles or so... beings to steam but I can't seem to find the source of the steam or what's causing it... also to not there is plenty of coolant in the rad until it get's steamed off. I am not sure what could be causing this... Is it possible the tsat is causing the issues I am having, the temp gauge goes from C to Low Mid C then Straight up to the H at a pretty good pace, also if I remove the tstat is there a way to test if it is faulty or not???
check your rad, make sure u have no cold spots, and that there is no block(i think someone has suggested this already) As well, hope ya have your oil cooler working. Mind you i dont and my car hasnt over heated yet....but i need it working again!!!!
Sounds like the thermostat to me, if not flush the system thoroughly and check your oil cooler isn't full of crud inside and outside.
Do you hear your fan running, if you have the stock clutch fan it should be running when the cars at idle and warm.
