cooling fan switch

On the bottom of the radiator there is a sensor called the cooling fan switch. What the heck is that for???

Cooling fan switch would be for an electric cooling fan as far as I know. Usualy it's a temp. operated switch with a high and low speed, to control your electric radiator fan. That is unless you don't have an electric fan, and if that's the case I don't know lol.

Ya know, I've allways wondered that too. If I remember right it was only in the 84-85 cars, but they never came with an electric fan. Why is it in there?

Does the rx7 share a radiator with any other mazda from that time? If so mazda may have just taken the radiator from that other car or truck and put it in the rx7. When they did this they may have not taken that switch off to save time, in turn saving money.
