that purple menace is a **** box 7. it really aggrivates me when kids come to this site and ask where they can find euros for their car, some slammin 19's, a set of sleepy eyed lights, a ******* air plane wing, and some **** bag immitation body kit and they dont even know the first thing about a 7. doing **** like that to a 7(the purple menace and ricer mods) makes me sick. the lines are so good and tasteful. the car is beautiful and elegant. wake up, this isnt tokyo. we arent on a drift circuit. that **** adds weight and people look at the 7 and it gets a bad name because of people like that. in some instances, i think people need to be butt fucked by a bulldog!

You have done a fine job.

Luiml73 Now your car rocks that blue color is one of my favorites. and your finish work from the photos I have seen are outstanding.

I am planing on repainting soon, but I am considering repainting it to look like the Mazda Speed JSS race car. It came in two different scemes back then....white with green stripes (78~82) and the blue with the orange stripes(83~85)

my problem has been in finding good photos of the 83~85 car. I wanted to build a replica of it, hense the JSS overfenders etc.

The main difference is that I have the 13bt vice the 13b PP (mine came stock with the 12at) and mine has a stereo and AC

Hideous, not in the least Kenn, 'bout time you posted of your car build. Outstanding job, besides, those are Epsilons aren't they? Time to show some engine bay shots too.

Over the years I have read quite a few of your posts, this is why I am having difficulties in working out which was the first least diplomatic.

Do you have any favorite we can share again?

I think that is the appeal of the "purple menace"
though i would go definatly keep the lines the wheel and spoiler would go....

As for kenn Chan, definatly in the top 3 of my fav. wide body's
cheers

kenn_chan, that car of yours is absolutely beautiful.

There aren't many widebodies I like. Yours and Trochoid's have to be the only ones I can think of offhand.

You do it in a tasteful way, and it still looks like a 7... Just an aggressively wide one.

When Ange broke up with me I chewed out a guy who had less than 10 posts who made a big V8 swap thread in the 1st Gen section. Not proud of that one, but it's gotta be my worst.

That's the first time I've seen the purple car (member for 3 or 4 years, it seems) and I agree, it's just plain ugly. Why would anyone do that to a 1st gen?

while I can certainly appreciate the amount of effort involved in creating the thing (maroon monster), and the amount of skill required to blend in the various styling cues, I think its basically a case of the person desinging it not being able to guage the reaction of the faithful.... your normal everyday ricer would take one look and fall in love with it, your normal 1st gen enthusiast would obviously (as demonstrated here) not be q2uite so impressed. simply put beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

Kenn, your car is quite simply gorgeous. I particularly like the understated spoiler and the way cool mesh wheels. I too have a dream of recreating the '79 Daytona car but that would require large amounts of money/skill, neither of which I have in abundance.

"simply put beauty is in the eye of the beholder"

Thanks Kenn, this is exactly the point I was trying to make, in my prejudiced way.

I like it. It looks like a full on japanese race car, circa 1985. Love the dished 5 spokes, notice the huge *** tubo sitting in the engine bay? That wing is functional. It may look like a park bench, and it would look horiffic on a stock bodied, stock wheeled 7, or any other car for that matter, but it fits the car well (in my opinion), fits the image saying "hey, i'm a badass with a huge honkin' turbo under my hood, try and **** with me".

Having said that, I would like to see what a good whale tail would look like on it (my car HAD a whale tail, but it wasn't on very good and had to be removed) would look like. My only complaint on the white car is the body line on the door. It looks out of place, makes the widebody kit look tacked on, like it isn't stock. If that were to be filled in. it would be SEXY all around.

the maroon car is offensive in every sense of the word. wrong wheels, horrible spoiler (why would you ever put a Supra wing on a 7?), and a terrificly (SP?) terrible color. that widebody, minus the skirts, spoiler, and wheels, plus a set of dished 15's with body colored faces and chrome lips, and a different color (i'm thinkin 350Z blue or Spirit R grey) would make that car halfway decent, provided it had a bridgey/pp 13b or a 13bt/13bre swap.

look at where it's sitting, in the Paddock of a race track. notice the huge turbo sitting in the engine bay, in front of the steering wheel? those tires are huge for a reason, as is the spoiler. Plus, look at all of the cars around it. If that is a recent picture, then it's from a classic race, if it's an old picture, the it's from an actual race. it's functional, not rice.
