Coolant leaking from Oil Pan.

I searched, but couldn't find anything that had the exact same issue. I have an 85 GS with 57,000 miles that I'm bringing back to life after sitting for around six years. So far I have changed all the fluids. Redid the cooling system with a new radiator, thermostat, and all new hoses. Redid the ignition system with coils, rotor + cap, ignition wires, spark plugs, battery cables, and a new starter. Rebuilt the carburetor. Changed the fuel and air filters. And lastly added an exhaust system (didn't have one when I purchased the car). There has always been a slow leak of coolant, but lately it's gotten worse. I jacked it up and out of the oil pan bolts there is drips of coolant and oil. What could cause the coolant to leak into the oil, I'm not noticing it the other way (oil in the coolant) and you can't tell it's there on the dipstick. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Jonathon

If you've had the engine running, you would know if coolant was mixing with the oil, it turns into a chocolate milkshake. One thing I don't see listed in your replacement parts is new heater hoses. The heater hose directly under the oil filter will swell and fail from being soaked with oil. While these pre-formed hoses are expensive, it's cheaper than a rebuild.

I had one that did something similar, it had also been sitting for a really long time, i actually had a freeze plug on the rear cast iron that was leaking. The other thing you did not say in your description is if you are actually seeing coolant in the oil?

I would highly agree with what "trochoid" already said and would pay attention to it,

The pictures in the inked post, look similar, but with more leaking between the engine and transmission. I have replaced the heater hoses, but will check the connections. I haven't noticed any "chocolate milkshake", just the drips near the oil pan. Thanks

If you are seeing more between the engine and trans I would be worried about one of the freeze plugs in the back housing there are 4 of them under and they are under the flywheel

Agreed. If the coolant isn't mixed in with the oil, and that would show on the dip stick, then it's leaking somewhere else. Pull the rubber plug out of the bottom of the bellhousing and see if there's coolant there. I drained 10 qts of goo from the oil pan of a 283 when the blocked cracked underneath the intake manifold.

Rotaries have freeze plugs in the front and rear irons. If the rear ones leak, no problem, drop the tranny, remove the flywheel and replace them. If the front ones leak, they dump directly into the oil pan. If any of the freeze plugs are rusted enough to leak, I'd replace all of them, then clean/flush the cooling system. Only reason for them to rust is poor cooling system maintinance or running straight water in a warmer climate.
