coolant leak?! where?!

so about two weeks ago i had to replace my radiator because the one i had some how cracked. and last night i was driving a little bit fast and i started to smell coolant and my "add coolant" light popped on. so i pulled over popped my hood and saw a crap load of steam coming from the area around my exhaust manifold. so today after work i took a look at the area and couldnt find any leaks in hoses or the radiator. so i started up the car for about 10 minutes. and i saw some steam but not alot. so i went under the car and saw it was coming from my exhaust manifold... what does that mean?

i just took the car out for a spin for another look see. when i got home i popped the hood and smelled coolant and saw some coolant around. it looks like other possibilities could be water pump or a hose connected to the water pump

Yep. Or a pinhole leak in a heater hose that's spraying the manifold.

Take off the exhaust heat sheilds and inspect carefully; an o-ring leak will have coolant coming from the bottom of the intake manifold. You'll probably need an inspection mirror to see well enough.

I have a similar problem, would the o ring also be under the intake manifold on a GSL-SE?

If the orings haven't been replaced yet, then it would be good preventive maintenance even if it turns out that they aren't causing your particular problem.

Once you remove the intake manifold, you will see the orings. Replace with new, or plug the holes with quarters and sealant (ghetto), or install a couple of 20 mm freeze plugs. You will also want to get a new intake manifold gasket as well.

If you are careful, you can remove the manifold without removing everything that is mounted on it (carb, etc.). You only have to be able to move it out a few inches to gain access.

Good luck.
