coolant leak

I seem to be getting a coolant leak it looks like the intake gasket because it just sets where the intake and block meet behind the carb. Will the intake gasket cause this or is there something else? Everything else seems dry.

It is either the coolant o ring in the intake or one of the coolant jacket seals like me only the opposite side of the housing (mine blew on the inside of the motor) in which it would bleed to death from the leading sparkplug .

peace

When my top radiator hose was leaking, I had a puddle of coolant back there and that's why it was harder to diagnose, because it wouldn't leak all the time.

It's not the gasket itself but two little o-rings that seal the coolant passages that are routed through the manifold. You can replace the o-rings or you can block the passages off on the engine. That way you'll never have to worry about coolant pissing out when the o-rings fail or when you take the manifold off. Just find some suitable plugs and seal them up with some RTV.

I had this do the same thing to me when I did a rebuild once. For some reason, I retightened the intake and it stopped ? But its the O rings that are the problem

Mine did this also on my first RX7. It's a combo of leaking oring and gap in the gasket. Order the gasket and orings from Mazda for 15 bucks cause it takes them about 4 days to get them. If you live in a could area (like freezing) don't block off the passages. That water keeps the intake from vapor locking.
