Converting to a Cone Filter
Converting to a Cone Filter
After meeting with a friend (Mark) I decided to convert to a K&N cone filter. Allot has been written on how hard it is to convert to a cone element. Well after some research this is how I did it. I found the perfect adaptor for the element at AutoZone, a Spectre Air Sensor Adaptor model 8141. It has the same opening as the Mass Flow and everything. I cleaned off the old gasket and made a new one, painted everything black (because I like the stock look, no Bling, Bling) Had to move the radiator overflow forward and tilted a little. I made an L bracket to hang the whole Mass Flow from a factory bracket. I think it looks awesome

John, I was checking your cardomain pics...congrats on a very cool project. Thank you also for the 8141 adapter and K&N cone filter, it saves tons of energy and cash. One question, on your page you "tackled" our greatest adversary, wheelwell rust. I have a GSLSE with the same color, and I also have such cancerous tumors. You mentioned that you used rust-oleum paint after 4 layers of undercarriage treatment. Which color did you use to color match to the metallic sky blue color? Thanks
air cleaner.
Nice job, looks good. What part # kn filter did you use? In a couple weeks hopefully i will have figured out how to update everyone with a gsle to a complete
cold air intake system. From the t-body to afm, then relocating it in front of the
lower grill at the front of the car. Also will relocate the air intake sensor right behind the air filter.
