Yes I searched. There were 0 matches, which I found odd. Anyway, has anyone converted their 84-85 GS or GSL from an automatic to a 5-speed? I know it won't be easy but it shouldn't be that hard either.

 

I never have done it, but was planning on it at one point. The hardest part, that looked like to me, would be the instalation of the clutch pedal. I took one out for the conversion and was a bitch, which looked like an impossibility to put back in with out taking out many parts?

 

Search on user Bouis. He posted pics of the way he mounted the Trans cross brace. and info on the swap.

I've done it on an '83, but I have parts cars to pull from. You will need the pedals(obviously) and the frame the pedals bolt into. The hole for the clutch/clutch master cyl is already there so no prb there. This was before the day of digital cameras(~10 yrs ago), so I don't have pics of the switch.

Overall the switch was easy.
