Conversion rear diff pinion flange

Does a conversion pinion flange exist for the FB...maybe something to upgrade to a 1310 u-joint or something similiar?

Car is a '85 GSL-SE if it matters. I know something must exist out there to let a u-joint upgrade happen, I just cant seem to find it online.

Can anybody point me in the right direction? Someone said Rockford makes a conversion pinion flange, but from what I can tell from the measurement on my car and the catalog is that it must only work on the 2nd gen.

No clue as to what a 1310 u-joint is. What is the purpose of using this joint? Have you check with your local drive shaft shop?

It's a popular conversion U-joint that can be used to connect to a ford 8.8 or 9 inch rear end amongst many other vehicles including Jeep, Dodge, etc............

You do know that our U-joints are not serviceable! Only early model years are serviceable.

What do you need to "Upgrade" U-joints anyways for?

Car has an LS1/T56, and I'm down to the very last piece to get it on the road --- the driveshaft. The shop making the driveshaft doesn't want to use the stock rear u-joint setup (will if they have to, though). The front joint is a 1310, and they would like to use a 1310 at the rear joint also. They swear they have seen a conversion pinion flange for these cars that will accept a 1310 but they're not sure who makes it because they have been customer-supplied in the past to them.

Maybe post this in the "Other Engine conversion" section and also search with the term(s) u-joint, drive line. etc to see if you get any hits.

Spoke with Brent, owner of www.driveshaftspecialist.com , and he said the pinion flange I'm looking for isn't really a "conversion" flange persay, but a flange that will accept a 7260 (I believe this is the number he said....used on Dodge vehicles) u-joint. He said the u-joint, for all intents and purposes is just as good as a 1310. It's a flange he normally stocks. I was so impressed with Brent's customer service and caring of my situation that I'm going to to ahead and have him make my aluminum driveshaft instead of the other place I was going to use. He immediately knew everything I needed, and the price is better too!

curse those non-serviceable drivelines. I went through two with a stock 12a, and 3 since the 13b swap.

Keep us posted on your progress.
