Contemplating 5 lug conversion

Hey, just thinking about doing a 5 lug fc conversion on my 82 fb and just had a few questions.

1. Rims, I was thinking of using my stock fd rims, would that work on these cars or would the fitment be off

2. This is what I am looking at buying:

http://winnipeg.kijiji.ca/c-cars-veh...AdIdZ122373317

Except for the rear calipers and rotors, is there anything else I would need to bolt it up to my Fb?

3. Is it possible to use my stock 82 calipers on the rear since this set doesnt come with it, and just by 2 stock fc rotors?

I think thats it, thanks alot.

The RE-Speed 5-lug FC brake upgrade involves a sleeve that goes over the stock spindle to space the hub out to the proper mounting point. It also uncludes the brackets you'll need to mount the FC calipers on the car. Looks like this guy had an FC and swapped from 4 to 5 lug, so yes you will need the RE-Speed brake upgrade. If you want to stick with your stock rear brakes then you just need to get the front brake upgrade kit from RE-Speed. Don't forget the brake lines as well, since FC lines are different from FB lines where they attach to the caliper.

as well as how they seal, you must use fc brake lines or order the respeed lines. also you will need to obtain some 84 - 85 strut housings

Just a few things I want to add, the FD wheels will not work properly. In order for FC wheels to fit using this kit you need 25mm spacers up front. In order to fit FD wheels on a FC you need about the same spacer, this would result in a 50mm spacer to put the FD wheels on the FB, I'm not sure you'd want to run a spacer that big...

alright thanks guys. I prob wont be doing a 5 lug conversion then. I thought it might be just a cheap upgrade that I could just get the parts locally, but since I have to spend close to 5 on re speeds products its a bit too steep for me right now.

Honestly, unless you're putting out much higher hp over stock, have larger tires that you can't lock up, want to upgrade to 5 lug wheels, or are in a racing venue with heavy braking and suffering brake fade, the stock brakes are more than adequate. Refurbishing the braking system and installing perfomance pads is usually sufficient.

its not that i need more braking power, its just that I have 4 stock mini spares on the car right now and instead of buying rims I thought it might be easier to use my fd rims, not too mention its been a bitch finding break hardware kits for the car (front and rear since the previous owner didnt label any bolts when he was tearing apart the car, and the brake hardware is nowhere to be found). I have the hardware on order, I have been waiting about a month for it and I thought this might be a quick alternative.

Ohh and if your wondering this is my project fb from awhile back. Just an update I got it started about a month back and all I need is the brake hardware, here is a vid holding idle at around 3000rpm if I remember right so it wouldnt stall.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GrgXXpBcdMM

Its gone a long way since that vid, the interior is complete and most of the body is back together.

I tried some FD wheels on my SE and the front will NOT fit.. as a matter of fact they wont even touch the hub due to their high offset... The rears however ..went on fine and are currently on their.. they do look good to... what a shame...

Here' a pic with FD spares on front and regulars on back...

I was told that the front stuts need modification to get the 3rd gen wheels to work..
My Tuner has done it before as his old 1st Gen had 3rd gen wheels all around...I am just waiting to get the motor back together before I modify the struts..
